We look for God’s love in our lives as the evidence that we have been truly worshipping Him. At First Baptist, worship is central to what we do, because God has commanded us to worship. Psalm 95:6 says, "Come, let’s worship and bow down; let’s kneel before the Lord our Maker."
Worship means learning to recognize God’s goodness while delighting to deepen in our responses to Him. It means purposing together, as individuals and as a community, to unite our actions, intentions, and emotions in loving response to God. It is when we stop and remind ourselves that we are in relationship with a God who is bigger than us, and who loves us more than we can imagine. It means transforming the ways we think so that what we do and who we are become one—in, for, through, and to the Father, Son, and Spirit.
Worship is a practice that helps keep us dependent on God for everything. We will worship through songs, scripture reading, prayer and giving in our gatherings.
